DDP explained
Delivered Duty Paid
The seller delivers to your warehouse with duties and tariffs paid — the heaviest obligation on the supplier.
Full definition
DDP looks effortless: one price, goods arrive at your dock, duty settled. The risk is who acts as importer of record and how the entry is filed. Some China-side forwarders quote aggressive DDP rates by undervaluing the entry or misclassifying HTS lines. If CBP challenges the entry, the exposure — back duties, penalties, Section 301 liability — usually lands on you. Insist on seeing the entry summary (CBP 7501).
Worked examples
DDP Los Angeles USD 18.00 / pc (duty, MPF and delivery included)
