    FCA explained

    Free Carrier

Risk transfers when the seller hands cargo to the carrier you nominate — works for ocean, air and truck.

    Full definition

Incoterms 2020 recommends FCA in place of FOB for containerized cargo. The supplier clears export and delivers to your forwarder or nominated carrier. For LCL and air freight, FCA describes the real transfer point (the forwarder CFS, not the ship rail), which matters when cargo is damaged before loading.

    Worked examples

    • FCA Shenzhen forwarder warehouse USD 12.00 / pc
